The City of Hayward has partnered with Alameda County to use their mass notification alert system: AC Alert.
CERT

Using training learned in the classroom and during exercises, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) volunteers can assist others in their community following a disaster when professional responders are not immediately available to help.

NERT is a free training program for individuals, neighborhood groups and community-based organizations with in Hayward. Through this program, individuals will learn the basics of personal preparedness and prevention.

A Power Outage Alert will be issued during extreme weather or wildfire conditions. These shutoffs are determined by your local energy company and will be communicated by the Hayward Fire Department and the City of Hayward.

Weather awareness is key for winter preparedness. Winter can bring extreme cold, freezing rain, snow, ice and high winds along with a higher risk of car accidents, hypothermia, frostbite, carbon monoxide poisoning, and heart attacks from overexertion. During a disaster or other emergency, we will activate our Emergency Volunteer Center (EVC) to provide a way for community members to help out and to manage volunteer efforts.
