Campus Drive Traffic Calming Project
PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The Campus Drive Traffic Calming Project spans 0.78 miles of Campus Drive between 2nd Street and Hayward Boulevard. The area is served by multiple neighborhoods, California State University East Bay, hiking trails, churches, senior facility, and Fire Station 9. Hayward identified Campus Drive as a priority corridor for traffic calming improvements based on community concerns, traffic volume, speed and collision data, and other factors. The purpose of the project is to identify pedestrian, bicycle, and traffic calming improvements to address traffic safety concerns and mobility needs in the corridor that are supported by the community.
