About the committee:

The Public Safety Committee was established as a permanent body when the City Council passed Resolution 23-272 on December 12, 2023. The Committee is intended to enhance transparency and awareness around public safety matters within the Hayward community. The Committee undertakes the responsibility of reviewing and evaluating items related to public safety, in partnership with the Fire and Police Departments, that prioritize the safety, security and well-being of Hayward residents.

The Public Safety Committee meets bi-monthly on the 4th Wednesday of odd months (January, March, May, July, September, November). Meetings are generally held at 5:30 p.m. at Hayward City Hall in Conference Room 2A, 777 B Street. Special meetings will be scheduled as determined necessary by the Committee or the City Manager.
