Homicide Investigation - 27000 block of Havana Avenue

Homicide Investigation – 27000 block of Havana Avenue 

HAYWARD, Calif., On Jul. 13, 2024, at approximately 10:31 a.m., officers responded to the report of a shooting near the intersection of Pompano Avenue and Sumatra Street. 

 

Officers responded to the area and located evidence of a shooting. Moments later, officers received additional reports of a shooting near the 27000 block of Havana Avenue, as well as reports of a collision. 

 

Officers responded to Havana Avenue and located an 18-year-old Hayward resident, suffering from gunshot wounds. The man was located in the driver’s seat of a vehicle that appeared to have collided into a parked car following an apparent shooting.  

 

The victim was transported to a local medical facility for treatment. He later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.  

 

The victim’s identity is known but is not being released at this time 

 

There is no one in custody for this incident.  

 

This investigation is ongoing and further details will be released when they are available

The Hayward Police Department case number is 2024-38698. This is Hayward’s seventh homicide of 2024.
