Hayward Public Library seeks coffee business to take over Main Library café space

Hayward Public Library is looking for a new coffee business to take over its extraordinary pocket café on C Street on the ground floor of the Main Library in the heart of downtown Hayward. 

Weekly space viewings and Question & Answer sessions begin June 17. All parties interested in this exciting business and partnership opportunity should complete an interest statement at https://bit.ly/HPLCafe by July 12.

Among the largest Net Zero Energy buildings in the nation, the Main Library is a jewel of Downtown Hayward that was completed in 2019 with approximately 400,000 annual visitors, a free public parking garage and ample street parking. 

The café space is 400 square feet and equipment available for use includes: 

  • Ice machine with a 90-pound bin
  • TurboChef high-speed accelerated cooking countertop oven 
  • Bunn one-pound bulk coffee grinder 
  • Bunn five-gallon, 212-degree water heater
  • Glass refrigerated deli case
  • Two 36-inch under-counter refrigerators
  • 24-inch by 24-inch stainless steel worktable
