Apply for Community Agency funding

The City of Hayward provides grants through the Community Agency Funding Program to private nonprofit and public social services agencies that serve lower income Hayward residents. Grants are available for Social Services, Infrastructure, Economic Development, Arts, Music annually through the Community Agency Funding Process.

Application Process

The Community Agency funding process is highly competitive. Application materials are typically released in October and proposals are due early December. Proposals are reviewed December through March by both staff and the Community Services Commission, and funds are awarded by City Council in April. Funded program activities begin in July. Below are the funded agencies for this previous year's funding cycle.

On October 28, 2024, the City hosted a mandatory bidder's conference for prospective applicants The Bidder's Conference is designed to acquaint the public, including applicants, with the application and decision-making process for the City's community agency funding grantmaking activities, including the funding process and program guidelines.
