CASE SYNOPSIS

RECOVERED HANDGUN: On 08/18/2024 at 12:10 AM, officers conducted a vehicle stop for an equipment violation near the intersection of A St and Garden Ave. Officers contacted the driver and saw suspected narcotics in plain view. The driver was detained, and a search of the vehicle revealed a loaded handgun that had been reported stolen. The driver was taken into custody without incident. (Report #: 2024-046303)  

 

ATTEMPTED CARJACKING: On 08/19/2024 at 4:37 AM, the victim walked outside near the 2000 block of Sleepy Hollow Ave when he was confronted by a subject at gunpoint who was trying to steal the victim’s vehicle. The subject fled the area in a vehicle after the victim’s dog started barking from inside the house. (Report #: 2024-046489) 

 

ROBBERY: On 08/22/2024 at 8:21 AM, the victim was walking her grandson to school near the 100 block of Harder Rd when she was approached by an adult subject. The subject used force and took property from the grandson. Officers responded and located the subject who was positively identified by the victim. The stolen property was located and returned to the grandson. The subject was taken into custody without incident. (Report #: 2024-047158) 

 

TRESPASS: On 08/24/2024 at 7:00 PM, officers responded to the report of a trespass in progress near the 27000 block of Mandarin Ave. A perimeter was set, and a search of the property was conducted. A man was located inside the building and was taken into custody without incident. (Report #: 2024-047641)
