Presidential Primary Election: Tuesday, Mar. 5, 2024

Completed mail-in ballots being returned by the U.S. Postal Service must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received by March 12.

Hayward also has seven official Registrar of Voters vote-by-mail drop boxes through which completed mail-in ballots may be returned on or before Election Day.  Vote-by-mail drop boxes are located at:

  • Hayward City Hall, 777 B Street [MAP]
  • California State University, East Bay, 25800 W. Loop Road [MAP]
  • Chabot College, 25555 Hesperian Boulevard [MAP]
  • Hayward Hall of Justice, 24405 Amador Street [MAP]
  • Cherryland Park, 198 Grove Way [MAP]
  • San Felipe Community Park, 2058 D Street [MAP]
  • Weekes Community Center, 27182 Patrick Avenue [MAP]

Additionally, nine Registrar of Voters Vote Centers for early and Election Day voting are being established across the City. The Vote Centers are the only Hayward locations for in-person voting and take the place of precinct-based Election Day polling stations. The Vote Centers in Hayward will be located as follows: 

  • Chabot College Student Center, 25555 Hesperian Boulevard, which will be open Feb. 24 to March 4 (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and on Election Day (7 a.m. to 8 p.m.) [MAP]
  • Cal State East Bay, 25800 W. Loop Road, open March 2 to March 4 (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Election Day (7 a.m. to 8 p.m.) [MAP]
  • Palma Ceia Baptist Church, 28605 Ruus Road, open March 2 to March 4 (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Election Day (7 a.m. to 8 p.m.) [MAP]
  • Fairway Park Baptist Church, 425 Gresel Street, open March 2 to March 4 (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Election Day (7 a.m. to 8 p.m.) [MAP]
  • St. Clements Church, 750 Calhoun Street, open March 2 to March 4 (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Election Day (7 a.m. to 8 p.m.) [MAP]
  • Alameda County Office Building, 224 W. Winton Avenue, open March 2 to March 4 (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Election Day (7 a.m. to 8 p.m.) [MAP]
  • Downtown Hayward Public Library, 888 C Street, open March 2 to March 4 (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Election Day (7 a.m. to 8 p.m.) [MAP]
  • Weekes Community Center, 27182 Patrick Avenue, open March 2 to March 4 (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Election Day (7 a.m. to 8 p.m.) [MAP]
  • Fairview Elementary School, 23515 Maud Avenue, open March 2 to March 4 (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Election Day (7 a.m. to 8 p.m.) [MAP]

On Election Day, the Hayward City Clerk’s Office will be open with staff members available from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. to help individuals looking for a Vote Center. The City Clerk’s Office is on the fourth floor of City Hall, 777 B Street, and can be reached by telephone at (510) 583-4400.
