ESL Grammar Classes

The Hayward Public Library is launching a new, free ESL Grammar Workshop Series! These classes will be offered in twelve-week series of various levels: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced.

Overview

  • Registration required. Fill out the General Interest Form to begin the enrollment process.  
  • Learn parts of speech, sentence structures, verb tenses, and more through lectures, online exercise, speaking practice, and many more fun activities.
  • Receive free textbooks, school supplies, and a backpack to assist with your studies. 
  • Attend all eight sessions to receive a certificate of completion from the City of Hayward.  
Please note: This is a series of classes and not a drop-in program. Learners must attend all eight classes to participate.

SPRING: 02/17/26-05/07/26

  • Beginner: Tuesdays 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
  • Intermediate: Tuesdays 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
  • Advanced: Thursdays 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.

FALL: 08/25/26-11/12/26

  • Beginner: Tuesdays 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
  • Intermediate: Tuesdays 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
  • Advanced: Thursdays 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
