Digital Literacy Classes

The Hayward Public Library offers free, in-person classes and workshops to improve your general computer and digital literacy skills. Classes are available as consecutive 6-week sessions or as drop-in weekend workshops.

Overview

  • If you are interested in participating in a class, fill out the Interest Form.
  • Learn about the parts of a computer, navigating the internet, using a keyboard, using Google suite, and more!
  • Every class includes hands-on practice with the help of a dedicated volunteer tutor.

Course Information

Digital Literacy 101

This class is dedicated to learning computer and digital literacy basics. Get familiar with the parts of a computer, navigating the internet, sending emails, and more!

Thursdays, 4-5:30PM

  • September 19, 2024 - October 24, 2024
  • November 7, 2024 - December 19, 2024 (excluding 11/28)

Google Workspace Workshops

This workshop covers Google Workspace programs, such as Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, and more!

  • 1st and 3rd Saturdays, 10AM-12PM
  • Drop-in sessions, registration not required.
  • If desired, you may register on the Library Events Calendar for the date of your choosing.
  • Space is limited. First come, first served.

Typing Club

This workshop is an open lab time and space for you to practice your keyboard skills.
