State of the City

The State of the City is an update on the City of Hayward's progress meeting the opportunities and challenges of the day and a look forward into the future. It is delivered annually by Hayward's mayor at an event supporting the Hayward Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Hayward program and, by invitation, to meetings of other groups and organizations.

Hayward Mayor Mark Salinas will deliver the annual State of the City address at a free public gathering at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, at the Hayward Unified School District Performing Arts Center at 2390 Panama Street in Hayward.

The State of the City address is an opportunity each year for Hayward’s mayor to provide an update on city government and the outlook for the year ahead.

Likely topics include progress on creating more affordable housing, responding to homelessness, new business activity and job creation, work being done to prevent and prepare for natural disasters and other emergencies, such as wildfire and earthquakes, and how the City is responding to changing policies and priorities at the federal level.
