YFSB’s school based counselors work with youth, as well as their parents and teachers to ensure students’ full and active engagement in school, boost their self-esteem and confidence, and help with their social and/or emotional concerns and academic success. The services offered at the YFSB Our Kids Our Families sites include case management, crisis intervention, individual, family and group counseling, as well as parent and teacher education, consultation and support. The Our Kids Our Families counselors also play an active role in working to improve the school climate at their assigned schools and foster a safe and inclusive school community that encourages and supports student success.
