The Library Commission advises the Hayward City Council on library policies including hours of service, fines and fees, library programs, capital improvements, Federal and State legislation affecting libraries, parking for library users, special services to persons with disabilities, cooperation with neighboring libraries, improvements in service, publicity and promotion, location of service outlets, equipment needs, policies governing the use of the meeting room, bilingual library programs, cooperation with other community agencies, and more.

How to provide Public Comment before the meeting:

Members of the public are invited to submit any comments via email to library@hayward-ca.gov by noon (12:00 PM) the day of the meeting. A report of all written comments received within the specified time period will be distributed to Library Commission members via email prior to the start of the meeting. Written comments will also be compiled into one file and published on the City’s Meeting & Agenda Center under Documents Received After Agenda Published.

How to provide live Public Comment during the meeting:

Meeting details will be posted the Friday before the meeting.

*Assistance will be provided to those requiring accommodations for disabilities in compliance with the Americans Disabilities Act of 1990. Interested persons must request accommodation at least 48 hours in advance of the meeting by contacting the Library at library@hayward-ca.gov.
