Project Overview

Santa Clara Street has a posted speed limit of 25 mph and serves mostly residences, with a few government institutions near Winton Avenue. The purpose of the Santa Clara Traffic Calming Project is to transition the street into a safe, multi-modal corridor by reducing vehicle speeds and upgrading bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure.

The project is planned to be implemented in two phases: short-term and long-term. The short-term phase will include minor striping improvements to bike lanes and pedestrian crossing . When the street is repaved in the next several years, the City will make a comprehensive update to roadway striping and design to provide a safe street for all users.
