Rebates available for Alameda County businesses pursuing Green Business Certification

September 24, 2019

Alameda County businesses are eligible to receive up to $500 dollars in rebates when they complete upgrades required to become a Certified Green Business. Both the rebate, and the certification program, are offered through the California Green Business Program.

Established in 1996, the California Green Business Program is a network of local programs run by cities and counties throughout California promoting a green economy through partnerships with small to medium-sized businesses. Alameda County and the City of Hayward are active partners in this statewide program.

The California Green Business Program is offering a total of $45,000 in rebates to help businesses across the state better prevent pollution and conserve resources. Rebates are available on a first-come-first-served basis while funds last.

Projects that may qualify for rebates include, but are not limited to, lighting upgrades, installation of programmable thermostats and/or occupancy sensors, installation of high efficiency toilets, and replacement of disposable food ware with reusables in kitchen and dining facilities.
