City Hall and Nonessential Services Closure: Monday, Dec. 23, 2024 - Friday, Jan. 3, 2025

Hayward City Hall will be closed, and nonessential municipal services will be paused Dec. 23, 2024 - Jan. 03, 2025, in observance of the winter holiday season.  City Hall will reopen and municipal services will be restored to their regular schedule, Monday, Jan. 06. Specific information about departments, programs, and services during this period is provided below:

1. Street Sweeping: No street-sweeping or citation enforcement will occur during the closure. Street-sweeping will resume its regular schedule the day following the closures. Review the schedule here.
2. Hayward Public Library: The Weekes branch library will be closed for renovations until Mar. 31, 2025. The Downtown library will be closed to the public Dec. 23 - Jan. 4, 2025 and will reopen for normal business hours on Monday Jan. 6, 2025. 3. Permit Applications: New permit applications and resubmittals can be submitted through the Hayward e-Permits Portal during the closure. Staff will begin reviewing materials after Jan. 06, 2025. For more information, visit the Permit Center.
4. Housing: The Housing Division will be closed, but will accept certain inquiries during the City Hall closure. For more information on City homebuyer programs, residential development and rent stabilization/housing inquiries during the closure, go online here. 
5. Code Enforcement: Non-emergency requests can be submitted through Access Hayward and will be processed upon the City’s return to normal business operations. Conditions which present an imminent danger may be reported to 9-1-1. For payment of any active program fees due or penalties issued, please log on to the City's online payment center or mail payments to the following address: City of Hayward Code Enforcement Division , 777 B St. Hayward CA, 94541.
6. Hayward Police Department Customer Service Counter: The counter will be closed Dec. 24 & 25 and again Dec. 31 & Jan. 1.
7. Hayward Animal Shelter: The Hayward Animal Shelter will be closed.  To report in-progress dog attack or animal cruelty, dial  9-1-1.  To report a sick or injured animal, call the police department’s non-emergency line at (510) 293-7272. 8. Revenue Center/Bill Payments: Closed for in-person payments. Payments can be made by calling (510) 583-4636, using online portals, or the self-service kiosk outside City Hall. Explore alternative payment options here.
