Enhanced language interpretation services announced for Hayward City Council meetings
HAYWARD, Calif., Sept. 5, 2018—The City of Hayward announced today enhanced non-English language interpretation services will be provided at all open-session meetings of the City Council.
Simultaneous interpretation for Spanish speakers will begin during City Council meetings starting on Tuesday, Sept. 11.
Simultaneous interpretation services for all other languages during Council meetings can be scheduled upon request. To ensure interpreters for languages other than Spanish are available, requests must be made at least 48 hours in advance by calling the Office of the City Clerk at (510) 583-4400.
City Council meetings generally are held the first, third and fourth Tuesday of each month starting at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 777 B Street, Hayward. The upcoming Tuesday, Sept. 11, Council meeting is being held at the Matt Jimenez Community Center, 28200 Ruus Road, Hayward.
The schedule of upcoming City Council meetings and published meeting agendas can be found on the City of Hayward website at https://hayward.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx.
Additionally, people needing to conduct business with or obtain assistance from the City of Hayward in languages other than English will be assisted by bilingual and multilingual City staff members.
