Tennyson Thrives Vision Plan
Tennyson Thrives is a collaboration between community members, City staff, and the Chabot College Student Initiative Center to create and implement a dynamic Vision Plan for the neighborhoods along the Tennyson Corridor.
What is a Vision Plan?
At its April 11, 2017 meeting, the Hayward City Council directed staff to create a Vision Plan for the Corridor (see video). Then in June 2017, the City Council adopted the Tennyson Corridor Strategic Initiative. The Vision Plan will capture existing neighborhood assets and cultures as well as community-identified aspirations for improvements to physical and civic infrastructures. In addition, the Vision Plan will include a road map for implementation.
Where is the Tennyson Corridor?
The Tennyson Corridor runs through several neighborhoods, stretching for 3 miles from Mission Boulevard to Industrial Boulevard. The Vision Plan will focus both on individual neighborhoods as well as linkages that connect community assets and safely cross Highway 880 and Union Pacific Railroad.

Palma Ceia Fest 2018

Needles in the HayStack Art Exhibit
Thank you to everyone who participated in community-inspired art exhibit at Hayward City Hall from May 21-31, 2018. The art, which was the culmination of interviews with dozens of community members and 50 community-based organizations, unveiled the dreams, aspirations, and concerns of South Hayward residents. We will be showing parts of the exhibits at locations around Hayward over the next year. Sign up for our email list above to get updates.
