Nicole Gonzales was appointed to Director of Finance in January of 2023. Nicole joined the City of Hayward in April 2017 as the City’s Budget Officer before becoming the Deputy Director of Finance in June 2019. Prior to joining the City, Nicole worked for the Mid-Peninsula Regional Open Space District and City of Dublin. Nicole is a member of the Municipal Management Association of Northern California, California Society of Municipal Financial Officers, and the Governmental Finance Officers Association. She holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from California State University, East Bay.
