August 19 event coincides with Chabot College Flea Market providing alternative way to participate for residents without a yard or garage
HAYWARD, Calif., July 28, 2017—The Keep Hayward Clean and Green Task Force announced today that registration is open for the annual Citywide Garage Sale in which residents are encouraged to work together to turn household clutter into cash.
Early registration is free and guarantees your address will appear on our downloadable map of sales as well as on a live digital map on our City of Hayward website. To ensure inclusion of address on the maps, participants must register by Aug. 14.
Maps are available online, at City Hall and at the Main and Weekes Branch libraries starting the Tuesday before the sale. To register online, use this registration form, or call Kimberly De Land of the city Department of Maintenance Services at (510) 881-7745.
This year, the Citywide Garage Sale is timed to coincide with Chabot College Flea Market, which has sales spaces available for reservation for fee. For more information on the flea market and to reserve a space, visit the Chabot College website here.
The Keep Hayward Clean and Green Task Force started the Citywide Garage Sale in 2012 as a way to reduce waste, encourage reuse, and to bring together neighbors and communities for a good cause. The event actually is dozens of individual garage and yard sales and block-wide extravaganzas. This year, with the flea market added to the mix.
