You are invited: Open office hours with the City Manager

April 10, 2018

Hayward City Manager Kelly McAdoo is opening her office to Hayward community members who would like to meet with her individually for 10 minutes at a time to discuss city-related issues.

As City Manager, McAdoo is chief executive officer of the City of Hayward’s 800-plus employee municipal government and is responsible for implementing City Council policy, hiring of city department heads, and establishing administrative and managerial priorities and standards.

Opening her doors to community members is part of City Manager McAdoo’s commitment to a more accessible, responsive and transparent Hayward city government.

McAdoo joined Hayward in 2010 as assistant city manager.  The City Council elevated her to the city’s top job effective Aug. 1, 2016.  Previously, she served as assistant to the city manager of the City of Palo Alto, and prior to that as a senior management analyst for the City of Fremont.   She is a graduate of the University of Kansas, where she earned bachelor and master degrees, the later in public administration.

To participate in City Manager Open Office Hours, residents are asked to sign up here online on the city’s website and provide a little information about themselves or their organization.  Time-slots will be assigned by lottery.  Residents will be notified at least 48 hours in advance of their appointment time.
