PGA Tour Returns to Hayward
HAYWARD - The Stonebrae Classic, a Web.com Tour event, will return to TPC Stonebrae in the Hayward Hills, July 25-Jul 31, the PGA Tour announced. The event will feature 156 of golf's brightest rising stars from all over the world, competing over 72 holes of stroke play to secure one of the season's coveted PGA TOUR cards. The 2016 purse will be $600,000 with the champion taking home $108,000.
Last year's winner, Si Woo Kim of South Korea, won the title with a 3-foot putt on the par-5 18th hole in a playoff with Jaime Lovemark and Wes Roach. The win was Kim's first Web.com Tour title.
TPC Stonebrae has played host to the Web.com Tour from 2009 through 2012, no tournament was played in 2013 due to the construction of the 32,000-square-foot clubhouse.
Proceeds from the 2016 TPC Stonebrae Classic go to The First Tee East Bay to help fund after school programming in Hayward.
