Hayward COVID-19 Testing Center and Hotline closed Friday, July 3, in observance of Independence Day

HAYWARD, Calif., July 2, 2020—The City of Hayward’s COVID-19 Testing Center and COVID-19 Hotline call center will be closed this Friday, July 3, in observance of Independence Day.

The Testing Center, located at Lot A on the campus of Cal State University East Bay, will resume regular operations at 9 a.m. Monday, July 6, and is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The COVID-19 Hotline call center, which can be reached at (510) 583-4949, will resume regular operations at 8 a.m. Monday, July 6, and is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Monday through Friday.

The Testing Center, established on March 23 by the Hayward Fire Department, provides testing for coronavirus infection free of charge for anyone regardless of place of residence or immigration status.  No physician referral or COVID-19 symptoms are required.

Recently, the Testing Center has been experiencing extremely high demand, and on some days may close the drive-up line early to new arrivals.

The Hotline call center is staffed by a multilingual of City employee volunteers reassigned from other duties and provides up-to-day information about COVID-19, its local impact and how the City of Hayward is responding to the health emergency.

Before calling the Hotline, residents are encouraged to first go online to the City of Hayward COVID-19 Resource Portal on the City website, www.hayward-ca.gov.
