Annual Citywide Earth Day Clean-Up and Community Fair—Saturday, April 22
The Annual Citywide Clean-Up and Community Fair is a litter pick-up event hosted at Weekes Park through which volunteers come together to collect letter and debris in various neighborhoods throughout the City.
After the pick-up, community members meet back at Weekes Park, where lunch will be provided for those who register via Eventbrite. There also will be a Community Fair with sustainability-themed booths with fun activities hosted by community organizations.
The Annual Citywide Clean-up and Community Fair will take place 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 22. Sign up to participate in the clean-up here. In an effort to make this event zero waste, we encourage participants to bring their own water bottles.
If you are unable to make it to Weekes Park but would like to organize a litter pick-up in your neighborhood or at your school on April 22, please contact Hayward Sustainability Specialist Nicole Grucky at nicole.grucky@hayward-ca.gov. The City can provide you with tools such as gloves, bags, and litter grabbers, and then pick up your collected litter at the end of the day.
And, if you are interested in hosting a booth at this year’s Community Fair, please also contact Nicole Grucky at nicole.grucky@hayward-ca.gov.
