Significant Incidents

Carjacking: On 09/20/2020, at 12:23 PM, a carjacking occurred in the 22000 block of Foothill Blvd. A woman was sitting in a running vehicle while her boyfriend went into a restaurant. The suspect uses an object to break a window and forces the woman out of the car. The suspect got inside and drove away. (Report #2020-056898)

Robbery: On 09/20/2020, at 3:42 PM, a man was walking in the 27000 block of Huntwood Ave. when approached by the suspect with a handgun who demanded money. The man gave the suspect his valuables. The suspect fled in a white SUV.  (Report #2020-056942)

Shooting: On 09/20/2020, at 8:30 PM, a victim was approached by a man and woman in the area of Cortez St. and Ormond Ave. The woman pulled out a handgun and shot the victim. The victim survived his injuries and was transported to a local hospital and the suspect fled on foot.  (Report #2020-056996)

Carjacking Arrest: On 09/20/2020, at 11:04 PM, officers observe a recent carjacking vehicle parked in the 300 block of Carson Ave. As they arrive on scene, the vehicle attempts to flee but officers safely used pursuit prevention tactics to stop it. The suspect is taken into custody. (Report #2020-056898)

Stolen Vehicle: On 09/23/2020, at 9:38 AM, an officer pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation. The vehicle was found to be stolen. The driver was arrested, and vehicle returned to owner. (Report #2020-057528)

Shooting: On 09/24/2020, at 3:25 PM, a shooting occurred in the area of Shepherd Ave. and Tyrrell Ave. Officers located several bullet casings and property damage.  (Report #2020-057877)

Home Invasion: On 09/26/2020, at 12:24 AM, suspects entered a residence in the 500 block of Staley Ave. One of the suspects pointed a gun at a man who was inside. The suspects ransacked the house and stole valuables. (Report #2020-058181)
