Coming Dec. 5—Online development planning, building permitting and code enforcement
The City of Hayward is in the final stages of introducing an online system to allow residents, builders and developers to conduct project review, building permitting, code enforcement and related activities with a click of a mouse or touch of a screen.
Soon, you will be able to apply for a permit, track your application, request an inspection and much more, all digitally.
The new e-permit system, called Energov, is on schedule to be operational starting Dec. 5. With it, residents, builders and developers will be able to apply for land-use approvals, building permits and business licenses online rather than visiting our permit counter.
The twin objectives are to streamline planning and permitting in Hayward and make more readily available public information about construction, development, and building and code enforcement.
As part of preparation, the City Permit Center will be closed starting at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, and will reopen for customers at 9 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5. During the closure, we will not be accepting any new applications or resubmittals.
For the latest, go online here on the City of Hayward website and watch for notices and updates shared via email, The Stack e-newsletter, social media and elsewhere. As we roll out Energov, there may be delays in processing of applications. We apologize and thank you for your patience during this transition.
