Hayward Night Market coming to South Hayward on Sept. 30

Hayward Night Market, a project of the Hayward People's Budget, will bring food and other local vendors, live entertainment, a pumpkin patch and much more to South Hayward from 4 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30.
The event, which will take place on the property of St. Rose Hospital at 27200 Calaroga Ave., is intended to be a lively evening of activities and fun for the entire family.
It is one of 12 events and projects funded through the Hayward People’s Budget, a pilot program initiated in 2021 through which community members were invited to submit and then vote on proposals for increasing community connections in their neighborhoods.
In all, $350,000 was allocated to be made available for People’s Budget projects and events across six sectors of the City—with approximately $50,000 to $70,000 made available per sector based on their relative population size and income level.
