Fatal hit and run collision - 27000 block of Huntwood Avenue

Fatal hit and run collision – 27000 block of Huntwood Avenue
HAYWARD, Calif.,On Sunday, September 17, 2023, at approximately 12:47 a.m., officers responded to the report of a hit and run collision involving three vehicles near the27000 block of Huntwood Avenue.
Officers arrived on scene and found two vehicles, two drivers, and one passengerstill at the scene.
The driver and sole occupant of the first vehicle was uninjured and is cooperative with the investigation.
The driver ofthe second vehicle was found unconscious and suffering from injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel responded and pronounced the man deceased at the scene.
The passenger inside the second vehicle was uninjured and is cooperative with the investigation.
The driver of the third vehicle fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival. The vehicle was later found, unoccupied, a short distance from the scene.
