Fatal Collision – Hesperian Blvd/Bartlett Ave

HAYWARD, Calif., On Thursday Feb. 8, 2024, at approximately 7:46 a.m., officers responded to the report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle at the intersection of Hesperian Blvd and Bartlett Ave. 

Officers arrived on scene and found both parties still on scene.  

The pedestrian, a 91-year-old male, was found unresponsive and had sustained injuries related to the collision. He was transported to a local medical facility for treatment but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.  

The driver, a 61-year-old male, is cooperative with the investigation and was uninjured as a result of the collision. 

The identities of the involved parties are being withheld at this time, pending notifications to next of kin and formal identification protocols by the Alameda County Coroner’s Office. 

It is not believed drugs or alcohol are a factor in this collision.
