Fatal Collision – Jackson Street/Diadon Drive
HAYWARD, Calif., On Friday, 07/19/2024, at approximately 1:40 p.m., officers responded to the report of a collision involving a single vehicle near the intersection of Jackson Street, east of Diadon Drive.
The driver was reportedly traveling eastbound Jackson Street when he veered off the road and collided into a cement pillar.
Officers arrived and located the driver still on scene, suffering from major injuries related to the collision.
The driver, a 52-year-old male and non-Hayward resident, was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
On 07/20/2024, the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The man’s identity is being withheld at this time, pending notifications to next of kin and proper identification protocols through the Alameda County Coroner’s Office.
Investigative steps are being completed to determine whether alcohol was a factor in this collision.
