Close out summer with a variety of community events in Hayward
Enjoy the end of the summer with a Downtown Street Party, a K-Pop shop, a special market and a Mexican Independence Day festival.
Next week, the Downtown Hayward Street Party wraps up its 2024 summer series on Thursday, Aug. 15. Enjoy local shopping, local agency resource booths, a wine and beer garden, and live music. Interested vendors can apply for a space here.
K-Pop fans are invited to a special pop-up shop at the Downtown Branch of Hayward Public Library on Saturday, Aug. 17, and Sunday, Aug. 18, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The K-Pop Republic Pop-Up Shop will be selling K-pop albums, official merchandise, and boba tea as well as hosting live free entertainment. The first 100 customers each day will receive a free poster.
On Sunday, Aug. 25, from noon to 4 p.m., the South Hayward Market returns to the South Hayward Bart Station and will once again host live entertainment, small, local retail vendors, and local food and produce vendors, including a mobile farmers market, The Rollin’ Root. Wrapping up the summer, La Alianza de Hayward presents the Mexican Independence Day Festival and Car Show on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on B Street in Downtown Hayward. Enjoy a variety of entertainment, including Mariachi music and ballet folklorico as well as a car show, local vendors, and an assortment of foods and drinks.
