The Cinco de Mayo Celebration – a music, dance and cultural extravaganza that Hayward residents look forward to every year – returns to the intersection of B and Main Streets annually in early May.
Municipal Band Summer Concerts
Save the date! The Hayward Municipal Band will present free concerts in Memorial Park on Sundays in June. Bring your family, friends, picnic lunch, lawn chair or blanket and enjoy, Classical, Popular, Big Band, Jazz, Musicals, Latin and more!
Juneteenth Freedom Celebration
Juneteenth, the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States, is observed in Hayward with a downtown event, flag raisings, and exhibits and programs at Hayward Public Library throughout the month of June.
Downtown Street Parties
Celebrate summer by attending annual Summer Street Parties held on the third Thursday of June, July and August from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in downtown Hayward.

Hayward Public Library’s Trunk or Treat festival returns annually to Heritage Plaza, across from the Downtown Library, in October.
Light up the season
Light Up the Season, the annual downtown Hayward winter-time celebration and tree lighting ceremony, returns to the City Hall rotunda and plaza in December.
