Significant Incidents
Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Evading, and Felony Warrant: On 01/13/2026 at 1:47PM, Special Duties Unit detectives received a License Plate Reader (LPR) notification regarding a vehicle that had fled from HPD officers earlier in the day. HPD detectives, ACSO deputies and their air support followed the vehicle to San Leandro near 159th Ave and E 14th St where the driver was arrested as a felon in possession of a firearm, evading, and an arrest warrant. The passenger was released from the scene. Case 2026-002344
Robbery, Theft, and Violation of Probation: On 01/13/2026 at 7:50PM, Three subjects concealed items from a store at Southland Mall and exited the business. Loss Prevention officers tried to detain them, however, suspect #2 took out a can of pepper-spray, causing LP to retreat. HPD officers responded and located the subjects a short distance away. The stolen items were returned to the store, and the subjects were arrested for the charges above. Case 2026-002456
Robbery: On 01/14/2026 at 09:00AM, HPD was called to a home invasion robbery that occurred on the 500 block of Laurel Ave. The victim heard knocking and went to the front door to check. Suspect #1 pushed his way into the residence by knifepoint and then pointed a handgun at the victim, forcing her into the bathroom. Suspect #2 took a small safe from the bedroom which contained a large amount of cash. Both suspects left in an unknown direction. Case 2026-002534
Carrying a Concealed and Loaded Firearm, Resisting Arrest, Possession of a Controlled Substance While Armed: On 01/16/2026 at 10:10PM SDU detectives attempted to contact a subject on the 300 block of W Jackson St (gas station). The subject immediately fled on foot towards Tarman Ave and jumped the fence into the backyards. With the assistance of HPD drone technology and CHP air, the subject was found and arrested; a loaded firearm and a bottle of controlled substance were also located. Case 2026-003156
