Hot Works - Cutting and Welding

Fire Department annual permit is required for any welding, cutting, grinding, or use of other similar open flame or spark producing appliances and equipment.

Before welding or cutting is permitted, a designated area must be approved by the Fire Prevention Office of the Hayward Fire Department. The purpose of the annual Fire Department permit is to assure that a fire inspection is made on a regular annual basis.

This inspection will verify that the original requirements are maintained and the designated area has not changed.
