DeAnna Hilbrants brings deep experience in municipal finance and public service leadership. She most recently served as Assistant Director of Business Services for Silicon Valley Power in Santa Clara, overseeing financial and contracting functions for the city’s electric utility with operating and capital budgets exceeding $1 billion.
Her previous roles include Deputy City Manager and Finance Director for Millbrae and Finance Director for Sonoma, where she also served as Treasurer for the Valley of the Moon Fire Protection District. DeAnna has led major projects such as ERP system implementation, purchasing system improvements, rate and fee studies, labor negotiations, and the design and rebuilding of Millbrae’s Recreation Center following its loss to fire.
Earlier in her career, she worked for Monterey County’s Departments of Emergency Communications and Information Technology, managing finance, contracts, and regional technology projects.
DeAnna holds an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from UC Irvine. She is active in CSMFO, MMANC, WLG, and ICMA, and was named MMANC’s Rising Star in 2013.
A Bishop, California native, DeAnna enjoys hiking, dancing, travel, and reading. She lives with her husband, Carl, a Senior Planner for Santa Clara County, and their son, Alex, who works in water operations for the City of Santa Cruz.
