Coming soon: HUSD breaks ground on new Performing Arts Center
Hayward Unified School District and community members celebrated on March 23 the start of construction on a new Performing Arts Center on the campus of Mt. Eden High School that will serve and be open to all HUSD students.
The $47.2-million project is funded by Measure H, a $381.7 million bond measure that was approved by 72 percent of voters in 2018.
The Center is intended to support HUSD’s commitment to being a Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) district and allow HUSD students to receive a top-tier arts education during their time at Hayward Unified schools.
Hayward Unified serves nearly 19,000 students at 30 school sites throughout the City of Hayward, is governed by an elected Board of Trustees and has a commitment to honoring the diversity of and partnering with Hayward families to ensure that every student is ready to learn and has the opportunity to do so in a joyful and safe environment.
