Fatal Collision – Harris Rd/Manon Ave

HAYWARD, Calif., On Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at about 7:50 AM, officers responded to the report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle near the intersection of Harris Rd and Manon Ave.

Officers and Hayward Fire personnel arrived on scene and located the pedestrian who was trapped underneath the driver’s car. Hayward Fire Personnel pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene.

Prior to officer’s arrival, the driver left the area on foot but later returned to the scene and is being cooperative with the investigation. The driver was not injured during the collision.

It is not believed alcohol or drugs were a factor in this collision.

The identity of the pedestrian, an 82-year-old female is known, but is being withheld at this time, pending notifications to the next of kin.

This is an active investigation and additional details will be released as they become available.
