Homicide Investigation – 3400 block of Investment Boulevard
HAYWARD, Calif., Feb. 28, 2023 – On Monday, Feb. 27, 2023, at about 7:55 p.m., Hayward Police Department dispatch received a call from an outside agency advising that an adult male arrived at a local medical facility and had suffered a gunshot wound.
Medical personnel rendered aid, but the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The same evening, at about 8:17 p.m., officers received reports of a shooting near the 3400 block of Investment Boulevard.
Officers arrived on scene and located evidence of a shooting. It is believed the shooting on Investment Boulevard and death of the shooting victim are related.
The victim’s identity is known but is being withheld pending formal identification protocols by the Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau and notifications to next of kin.
There is currently no one in custody for this incident, and this investigation is active and ongoing.
