Fatal Collision – Hesperian Boulevard/Sueirro Street

HAYWARD, Calif., On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at approximately 6:56 a.m., officers responded to the report of a hit-and-run collision involving an SUV and a pedestrian.
Witnesses on scene located the pedestrian, later identified as a 51-year-old male, Hayward resident, in the center median and contacted 9-1-1. Medical personnel responded and attempted life saving measures but was later pronounced deceased at the scene.
The identity of the pedestrian is currently being withheld pending formal identification protocols by the Alameda County Coroner’s Office.
The driver of the involved vehicle fled the scene prior to officer arrival. Witnesses on scene describe the vehicle as a white, medium sized SUV, last seen going southbound on Hesperian from Sueirro Street.

The Hayward Police Department case number is 2025-007113. This is Hayward’s first fatal collision of 2025.
