Suspect in custody for homicide near 24000 block of Amador St

HAYWARD, Calif., On Saturday July 23, 2022, at about 7:57 AM, officers responded to the 24000 block of Amador St regarding the report of a “man down.”

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male who was unresponsive and sustained injuries consistent with being stabbed. Medical personnel responded to the scene and pronounced the man deceased.

The victim has been identified as 67-year-old Hayward resident, Thomas Boyd.

During the investigation, a suspect was identified and, on July 24, 2022, 24-year-old Hayward resident, Chad Williams, turned himself into police custody. Williams has since been booked at the Santa Rita County Jail for murder.
