Homicide Investigation
HAYWARD, Calif., On Monday, June 13, 2022, at about 8:30 AM, Hayward PD officers responded to the report of an assault with a deadly weapon near the 27000 block of Whitman St.
Upon arrival, officers located a male unresponsive suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel pronounced the male deceased at the scene.
The victim’s identity is being withheld at this time, pending formal identification protocols by the Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau.
An arrest was made at the scene related to the shooting, but the suspect’s identity is being withheld at this time. There are no other suspects outstanding or other known threats to the community. The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
