Pledge to conserve water this April for the chance to win prizes
The City of Hayward is once again participating in the annual Wyland National Mayor's Challenge for Water Conservation, a friendly competition between cities across the country. Through the challenge, residents can pledge to make water-friendly lifestyle changes, undertake home-based environmental projects, and more for the chance to win.
To join in the 2023 challenge, residents must submit their pledge between April 1-30. Participants in the cities with the highest number of pledges are eligible to win hundreds of prizes, including the grand prize of a full year of paid utility bills up to $3,000.
Despite the recent rains that have eased drought conditions, year-round water consciousness is critical to protecting our local water supplies.
