Fatal Collision – Mission Blvd/Gresel St

March 16, 2025

HAYWARD, Calif., On Sunday, March 16, 2025, at approximately 3:25 a.m., officers responded to the report of a single vehicle collision near the intersection of Mission Blvd and Gresel St.

Officers arrived on scene and found the vehicle had struck the east curb of Mission Blvd and rolled onto its driver side, coming to a rest near the curb.

During the accident a passenger, 41-year-old Hayward resident, was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The identity of the passenger is currently being withheld at this time, pending notifications to next of kin and formal identification protocols by the Alameda County Coroner’s Office.

Witnesses on scene reported two unidentified males fleeing the scene of the collision. 

Drugs and alcohol have not been ruled out as a factor in the collision.
