Still time to apply for appointment to serve on Hayward Youth Commission
Applications are still being accepted through May 20 from students interested in serving on the Hayward Youth Commission.
The City seeks students eager to represent the interests, needs and concerns of young people in Hayward and provide input to elected officials of the City of Hayward, the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District, and the Hayward Unified School District about issues that affect youth.
Youth commissioner responsibilities include attending meetings, currently via Zoom, the first and third Monday of each month from September to June, except holidays, and working on special projects that address current youth issues.
To qualify, students must be between 13 and 20 years old at the of appointment and live in the City of Hayward or within the boundaries of the Hayward Unified School District. All applicants under 18 years of age must have parent/legal guardian consent to participate on this commission by complete by completing the Parent Agreement and Contact Information form.
