Fatal Collision – Mission Blvd/Orchard Ave
HAYWARD, Calif., On Sunday, 05/08/2024, at approximately 4:43 p.m., officers responded to the report of a collision involving a vehicle and a scooter near the intersection of Mission Blvd and Orchard Ave.
Officers arrived and located both parties still on scene.
The driver, a 36-year-old male and Hayward resident, did not sustain any injuries as a result of the collision. The driver is cooperative with the investigation.
The man riding the scooter, a 22-year-old male and Hayward resident, was found to be unresponsive and suffering from injuries related to the collision. The man was transported to a local medical facility for treatment.
On 05/10/2024, the male succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The identities of both involved parties are being withheld at this time.
Drugs and/or alcohol are not believed to be a factor in this collision.
