Update: Arrest made in homicide near 27000 block of Havana Avenue
HAYWARD, Calif., On Oct. 10th, 2024, officers arrested Daniel Ramos, a 46-year-old Newark resident, for the homicide that took place on July 13, 2024.
On Jul. 13, 2024, at approximately 10:31 a.m., officers responded to the report of a shooting near the intersection of Pompano Avenue and Sumatra Street.
Officers responded to the area and located evidence of a shooting. Moments later, officers received additional reports of a shooting near the 27000 block of Havana Avenue, as well as reports of a collision.
Officers responded to Havana Avenue and located a 19-year-old Hayward resident, suffering from gunshot wounds. The man was located in the driver’s seat of a vehicle that appeared to have collided into a parked car following an apparent shooting.
The victim was transported to a local medical facility for treatment. He later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The victim has been identified as 19-year-old Hayward resident, Angel Enciso.
During the course of the investigation, Detectives gathered evidence and identified Ramos as the man believed to be responsible for the shooting of Enciso.
On October 10, 2024, Ramos was placed under arrest for murder, and a search warrant of his residence in Newark was executed. Several firearms were recovered and were booked as evidence. It is unknown at this time whether any of the weapons recovered were used during the shooting.
This investigation is ongoing, and further details will be released when they are available.
