Lawyer in the Library:

Saturday, Sept. 18

The Lawyer in the Library program is a free legal information and referral program hosted by the Hayward Public Library and staffed by a volunteer lawyer. In a one-on-one telephone appointment, the lawyer can answer questions on most legal topics. If legal help is required, people are referred to other agencies.

Appointments usually run for about 10-15 minutes. Due to limited availability, we can only make one appointment per month per person or family.

To request an appointment, send your phone number and desired date to or call (510) 881-7980. Please do not send any confidential information in your email. Library staff will get back to you within three business days.
