The event will feature a performance stage, featuring student groups of singers, dancers and more. Returning this year after its successful debut in 2024 is the holiday market, with dozens of vendors offering traditional cultural dishes, sweet treats and holiday crafts. Attendees can also visit Curbie, the Hayward Public Library bookmobile, and ride a Ferris wheel at the market. There will also be various holiday-themed photo opportunities available inside the rotunda and outside at the plaza.
These lively gatherings, hosted by the Hayward Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the City of Hayward, unite our community by offering an eclectic mix of live music, delectable foods and unique shopping experiences.
Vendors, nonprofit organizations and other groups can apply for booth spaces at the June, July and August parties here.

Founded in 1957 by City maintenance workers Ed Mendonca and Tony Nunes, the band has grown into a cherished local tradition. In 1960, Tony Morelli took over as conductor, leading the 40-member professional ensemble until his passing in 1998. His daughter, Kathy Maier—formerly assistant conductor—has continued the legacy and led the band for more than 15 seasons.

Judge LaDoris Hazzard Cordell, the first African American woman to serve on the Superior Court of Santa Clara County (from 1988 to 2001), will deliver the keynote address at the City of Hayward’s 2026 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration.
The annual Hearts of Hayward Volunteer Awards and Recognition Event will be streamed live on the City of Hayward YouTube channel starting at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 24.
Beat the Heat – Know Where to Go
When temperatures hit 100°F or higher, or remain at or above 95°F for three straight days, a public cooling center is a safe place to escape from extreme heat.
Extreme heat can cause heat stroke, exhaustion, and dehydration. It can also worsen allergies and breathing issues. Older adults, children, people with disabilities or medical conditions, and those without housing are at the highest risk.
