Home Rules Nominate Hall of Fame

The City Council Youth Achievement Hall of Fame Awards recognize Hayward youth ages 5 to 19 years old for outstanding achievement in seven categories: 

  • Academics
  • Athletics
  • The Arts
  • Community Service
  • Heroism
  • Innovation
  • Leadership

ACADEMICS

This category recognizes Hayward youth who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in academics, including: academic grades and test scores, school projects, advanced coursework, extracurricular activity, academic improvement, writings and presentations, and other forms of scholarship.

ATHLETICS

This category recognizes Hayward youth who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in athletics, including: team sports, athletic competitions, health and fitness, intramural play, tournaments, and other forms of athletic achievement.

THE ARTS

This category recognizes Hayward youth who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in the arts, including: visual arts, performing arts, musical composition and performance, choreography and dance, digital arts, literature, and other forms of artistic achievement.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

This category recognizes Hayward youth who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in community service, including: volunteerism, fundraising, social work, the environment, community organizing, neighborhood improvement, advocacy, and other forms of community service.

HEROISM

This category recognizes Hayward youth who have demonstrated outstanding heroism and bravery, including: crime prevention, public safety, search and rescue, anti-bullying awareness, drug prevention, overcoming adversity, standing up for oneself or others, and other forms of heroism.

INNOVATION

This category recognizes Hayward youth who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in innovation, including: invention, emerging technologies, creative problem-solving, developing new systems and ideas, and other forms of innovation.

LEADERSHIP

This category recognizes Hayward youth who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in leadership, including: student government, peer networks, clubs, athletic teams, community groups, families and neighborhoods, online communities, youth organizations, and other forms of leadership.
