Significant Incidents

Robbery: On 08/26/2025 at 8:46 AM, a robbery occurred at the grocery store on the 200 block of Jacson St. The store manager confronted a subject who was concealing bottles of alcoholic beverages. Confronted by the store manager, the subject broke one of the bottles and brandished the neck of the bottle at the manager and exited the door. Officers arrived at the parking lot, located the subject who attempted to flee, but were able to stop and detain him. The subject was arrested for robbery and resisting arrest. Report # 2025-49212

Strong Armed Robbery: On 08/26/2025 at 6:41 PM, officers responded to a strong-armed robbery that occurred on the 200 block of Jackson St. The security guard watched as a subject walked into the grocery store with an empty bag, filled it with items, and walked past the self-checkout area. He attempted to stop and check the subject’s bag, but a fight ensued where the guard was scratched on the arm, and the subject was sprayed in the face with OC spray. The subject fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival and were unable to locate the subject in the surrounding area. The security guard refused medical assistance, and the store was able to recover the stolen items. Report # 2025-49370

Theft by False Pretenses: On 08/29/2025 at 2:55 PM, an elderly person who lives on the 900 block of Malcom Ln was scammed out of a large sum of money. An unidentified subject (S1) claimed to work for an anti-virus company and deceived the victim into believing funds were accidentally deposited into the checking account; and were needed to be returned. The victim withdrew the money, which was collected by an Identified subject (S2). On 08/30/2025, (S1) attempted to scam the victim again for another large amount of money, but HPD was contacted, who coordinated a plan to apprehend the subject when they attempted the second pick up. The identified male (S2) was arrested; however, the victim was unable to recover any of the money. Report # 2025-49978
